Kia ora Deborah and the Senior Leadership Team, Today I was in Turangi at a petrol self-fill station.
Sadly my credit card was stuck in the machine. Fortunately along came two van loads of AMAZING Young people from your College.
Firstly one of your staff members attempted to help…to no avail. She then asked the students in the van to help and out they poured.
No luck despite the effort. They were then joined by students from the other van too. It was turning out to be a big job!
While a group was trying to extract my card another small group cared for my puppy….sitting on the ground – cuddling and playing with him. And then one of the young men managed to free my credit card! Wonderful!
I have spent my life working with young people in all sorts of capacities……..your students were awesome…kind, respectful, caring, supportive, funny, and tenacious…..you can be proud of them.
I then tried to transfer some money into your school account……the teacher said no it’s what they do! A values thing…….
So I wanted you to know that your students were excellent Deborah. Please pass my thanks on to them AND if your College does need anything then let me know.
Take care and well done.
