Kia ora koutou
This is a quick message to let you know that Te Kauwhata College and the local primary schools will all be closed tomorrow. We are making this call in the interests of the safety of our pupils and staff.
The school buses will not be running as they should not operate in high wind and flooding conditions. As MOE has alerted me that we have been given a red alert, for our area. The indications are that conditions will get much worse overnight.
As teachers will not be at school, the school is simply shut. We will make a call on whether we will open for Tuesday, later tomorrow.
I apologise for any inconvenience at this late notice, but I prefer to err on the side of caution.
