Some of our senior Maaori aakonga visited Waikato University and were taken on a private tour with Taha, Senior Maaori Liaison Adviser. Our students were able to look at the Faculty of Law, Education, Nursing, Sports, Science and Te Reo Maaori. They even participated in the University Kapa haka group practice, which was awesome. Some very kind 1st-year uni students let our students peek into the on-campus accommodation, which was described as small and dark. And to top off a long afternoon of walking around, they ate at the halls of residence (where the kai was not as good as Matua Jimmys’!) Our seniors loved their time at the University and are very interested in enrolling in 2023.
