ARTS

The Arts at Te Kauwhata College incorporates Visual Art (Photography/Painting), Dance, Drama and Music (Theory and Technology). This diverse range of subjects uphold our school values that GROW our students into confident, responsible, lifelong learners.

At NCEA Level 2 and 3, we encourage independent learning for our students by incorporating individual learning pathways that look towards and enhances their vocational future.

Each year, the Arts learning area appoints two students in Level 3 to be Art Leaders, who work with the Arts Teachers to deliver exhibitions and performances throughout the year. Whole school productions are undertaken every two to three years; with the last one being
Aotearoa on 2017.

The school has a Concert Band, Guitar Ensemble and Junior Choir, who partake in outside of school performances and festivals regularly.
